Channel Management and Sand Movement
We have already seen the impact of significant winter storms. Teignmouth Harbour Commission (THC) is very aware of the resultant concerns raised about risk to properties, infrastructure and beaches. Teignbridge District Council (TDC) is working in partnership with other statutory bodies and has commissioned a Beach Management Plan that takes into account all the factors that influence the foreshore. The output will be a long-term strategy. THC is committed to working closely with TDC on this as a member of the Steering Committee. THC will maintain the shipping channel by following the current channel management approach while the study is ongoing. This is to avoid introducing any further variables.
