The Teignmouth Harbour Consultancy Group (THCG) was originally set up in 2003 by the Harbour Commissioners as part of the implementation of the Port Marine Safety Code (PMSC) and the Teignmouth Harbour Revision Order 2003. The primary purpose is to ensure that we as a Trust Port take into account the views of a wide range of stakeholders, particularly when considering and establishing medium to long term strategic objectives for the Harbour.
In need of a refresh, the new draft terms of reference for the group can be found at the link including a list of representative organisations. If you think the views of your organisation needs to be included then please get in touch and let us know. We will be sending out invitations to clubs and organisations chairs/secretary’s during June 22 asking for nominated representatives to sit on the consultancy group from Sep 22 including an understanding of when to host the meeting in order to get as large a representation as possible.
The next meeting in Sep 22 will be an introduction from the Chief Executive of THC explaining the role of the Harbour Commission, the Commissioners and their responsibilities under statute (Law) and how the User Community can engage as part of the Consultancy Group. We will touch on the Terms of Reference for the group, understand when best to hold the meetings and raise the requirement to vote for a Chair, Vice and Secretary to lead the meeting from Jan 23.
Invitation Letter and Terms of Reference can be found in the Document Library, Policy and Reports.
